Blindness

Yah, really didn't like this book - It def. wasn't an easy read and it just makes you walk away from it wondering "what are we, as humanity, really capable of?" To the core is there something in us that causes us to just resort to animal instincts and behavior when all we know of is lost or can we continue to be capable of living out of kindness, compassion, and care towards others? I believe mostly the latter would be at the core of human existence, however this book seemed to point otherwise and I do have to admit there are a lot of times and instances past and present where we hear of the afore mentioned being what is more prevalent in humankind.

yeah, this is not a very uplifting book, but I thought it was pretty interesting. I found out the author is decidedly an athiest, and that is definitely reflected in the despair and lack of hope projected in the book. I liked his prose; very good writer. But you are right, not a hope-filled book.
