Kids and the freedom of their bodily functions

Yesterday one of my first graders at work was sitting on my lap when he farted so loud that it vibrated my leg AND the entire chair. All the other teachers were laughing pretty hard... and I got kind of embarrassed... why did I get embarrassed? I wasn't the one who farted? Anyways, I wrestled the kid to the ground and yelled "don't you ever do that to a girl." He thought it was pretty funny. I did too.

So, there is this 4th grader at school today who decided not to listen to me. She said "no, I don't have to listen to you and I choose not to." I tried to talk to her about it and there was no reasoning with her. I threatened to send her to the office and she replied, "no, I'm not going to the office." So, I asked this child why she wouldn't listen to me and she said, "well, miss sara, I had a very profound revelation just a few minutes ago." "oh, whats that?" I asked. "I don't have to listen to a word you say or any other teacher, I only listen to God." I responded... "Very interesting, cause in the Bible, God tells us to listen to those in authority over us" But this 4th grader wasn't believing me. We ended up working out our differences and she finally decided she needed to listen to me after a not so fun trip to the office. Where do kids come up with this type of stuff????

technology

I love technology. I upload some pictures to wallgreens.com and then less than an hour later they are ready for pick up. I know its much quicker if you have your own photo printer (also great technology)... but for me, who doesn't own such a thing - I love how great and easy it is to get on a computer really fast, click a few buttons, get in my care, go to the store and they are waiting for me to pick them up. I know this service has been around for awhile now, but I'm just really appreciating it today.
